Accomodation

The most convenient place for guests to stay is Izmir Institute of Technology Life Center (“İYTE Yaşam Merkezi” in Turkish) in campus since the campus is away from the city center.  Life center provides very basic rooms with private bathroom-wc, kitchen unit, air conditioning, refrigerator, TV, work desk and chair, sitting corner, bookshelf, commode, wardrobe, medium-size bed .  Single occupancy rooms cost about 100 TRY a night, double occupancy rooms cost about 140 TRY a night at the Life Center.   The cost of your accommodation has to be paid directly to the Life Center when you check-in/check-out.

Everyday, there will be a shuttle service from LIFE CENTER (İYTE Yaşam Merkezi) to Math Department and vice versa.

Although we expect plenty of available space in Life Center in August, we still recommend you to contact them for reservations early in case there are other events at the same period of time.

Alternatively, one may book a hotel in the town Urla which is 15 min drive from the campus.  We do not recommend this option unless you have a personal or rental car since Urla is 15-20 minutes away from campus by driving.

There are restaurants for breakfast and dinner at Life Center.  Lunches will be served at Kidonya Café right across the Math Department.  Alternatively, guests may use the dining hall in student dormitories (5 min walk to math dept).  This latter option is especially recommended for vegetarians or vegans since dorms serve a wide range of vegetable dishes.
